  1. Day of International Criminal Justice is annually observed across the globe by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on 17 July to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statue, the founding treaty of the ICC.
  2. Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) achieved a significant milestone as it became India’s first airport to have four operational runways.
  3. Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, have developed a Deep Learning based framework, namely OsteoHRNet, that automatically assesses the knee osteoarthritis (OA) severity from X-rays images.
  4. Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on 14 July 2023, announced Michele Bullock as the first female head of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) for the next seven years, replacing Philip Lowe.

  13. At the Chavin de Huantar archaeological site in Peru, archaeologists have successfully revealed a sealed corridor named ‘the condor’s passageway’ within the ancient temple complex of the Chavin culture, which dated back 3,000 years.
  14. A private Chinese company launched the World’s first methane-fuelled space rocket into orbit named ‘Zhuque-2’.
  15. The seventh edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023, Asia’s premier digital technology exhibition, will take place from 27 to 30 October, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
  16. Dr Mangala Narlikar, an eminent mathematician and the wife of Dr Jayant Narlikar who is the founder director of Pune-based Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), passed away on 17 July 2023, at the age of 80.
